Totem pole designs are very unique and have specific meanings from tribe to tribe.
All I know is that they are beautifully hand carved.
Off to the Bore tide at Beluga Point
A tidal bore, often simply given as bore in context, is a tidal phenomenon in which the leading edge of the incoming tide forms a wave of water that travels up a river or narrow bay, reversing the direction of the river or bay's current. It is a strong tide that pushes up the river, against the current.
The wave can come twice a day and is often surfed by local riders, who are sometimes able to surf a very long time on 5-10 foot faces. It occurs 2-3 hours after the low tide time in Anchorage, Alaska.
